About The Neighborhood
S. Bishop Street is a single family rental home located in Chicago’s Washington Heights Neighborhood. Like many South Side neighborhoods, Washington Heights was first established as an autonomous town developed alongside the construction of rail lines running from Chicago to the greater Midwest. As the City proper expanded South and West, Washington Heights was among the outlying small towns that were annexed into Chicago. The majority of Washington Height’s housing stock was built in the 1920s and 1930s in Chicago’s iconic brick bungalow and two-flat style. S. Bishop Street dates to 1920 and stands as an early example of the bungalow style.
